Wow.
I don’t really know what else to say but that.
Were you at the Naked Girls Reading – Chicago Chapter?
I certainly hope so. If not, I’m NOT giving a full re-cap this time…so basically…yeah…you missed out.
As I write this, I will begin by stating that I’m consuming my 2nd Moscow Mule…EVER. I’ve never had one before and I’m finding it quite delightful and refreshing. I’m drinking it proper – copper mug and all. Hmmm…do I have this privilege because of my independence?
For the Naked Girls Reading – Chicago Chapter, the theme was independent women. Wow…doesn’t that open up a can of worms?!
I started off the evening by reading the definition of Independent Woman by urbandictionary.com.
What do I have to say about it? Eh…amusing.
I also read a ridiculous article that was posted at
Now, if you were at the event, then you are fully aware of how this article got my panties into a twist. Being that I wasn’t wearing any panties at Naked Girls Reading, it was sort of an experiment – and yes – it still got my feathers ruffled up. When I first came upon the article, I wanted to put my fist through my computer monitor. Yep…I’m hardcore like that. Reading it aloud to an audience, well, I still felt the same way. I kept my anger (somewhat ) under wraps for the reading, but, honestly, it was hard to hide my emotions toward this article. I’m sorry, but ladies, if you’re going to put an article out into a public forum – DO NOT contra indicate yourself on an already delicate subject matter. That is all I have to say on this.
I also read a little from the book “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea.’ by Chelsea Handler. I LOVE THIS WOMAN.
I love her in a way that can not be adequately described in a public blog. However…in order for me to try to help you understand my infatuation, I want to leave you with this…
Is there anyone out there besides me who is in love with Chelsea Handler? What about the Playboy spread? Yeah…it was a tough pill to swallow when I realized she didn’t reveal any of her naughty bits. You too? Anyone with me on that?
The biggest surprise of the evening, however, was when I tossed the running order to the wind and surprised everyone, including the other Naked Girls, with an “improvisational piece.” I was set to talk about Jenna Jameson in our last segment – and I did – briefly. I fully respect her and I feel that she has done wonders to change the porn industry in favor of women. After a little show and tell from her amazing autobiography
“How To Make Love Like a Porn Star” which can be purchased here at
ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1279429044&sr=8-1, I promptly went into my next plan of attack.
Completely straying from our set running order, I chose to talk/read about Michelle L’amour instead of Jenna Jameson. Michelle L’amour has done so much for herself, the burlesque community, and women in general, that it seemed a shame to not honor her in this theme.
If you weren’t there for the performance, then I’m sorry, but you missed it. And man did you miss it!!!!!
I presented a great bio that made her blush and presented a few pictures for show and tell that supplemented her life story.
Bringing us to present time, here are a few pictures that exemplify one of Michelle L’amour’s great accomplishments – creating her own burlesque troupe that took home the trophy for Best Group at The Burlesque Hall of Fame 2010.

Until next time,
Greta Layne
